Towards Democratising the Formation of Knowledge: Julia Binter Discussed her Recently Published Chapter at the Humbolt Forum

Berlin, 13 February 2025 – Our Argelander-Professor for Critical Museum and Heritage Studies, Jun.-Prof. Dr Julia Binter, was invited to present her recently launched book chapter Towards Democratising the Formation of Knowledge: Researching Sensitive Collections from Namibia Collectively (open access) at the Humboldt Forum, in Berlin, together with Researchers and curators from the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz, Freie Universität Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin.

The event continued the debate initiated by editors and authors at the Global Heritage Lab on 23 January 2025 on the book Collections as Relations: Contestations of Belonging, Cultural Heritage, and Knowledge Infrastructures. The edited volume explores different possibilities of anthropological and art collections, understood as catalysts, mediums, and expressions of relations.
