The Global Heritage Lab is an international research hub for critical museum and global heritage studies and an
innovative teaching and exhibition space. It fosters transcultural and transdisciplinary experimentation and
provides impulses for rethinking museums and understanding cultural heritage against the background of global economic, ecological, cultural and political challenges. In particular, it engages with historically marginalised bodies of knowledge and forms of cultural expression. The Global Heritage Lab is supported by the Transdisciplinary Research Area Present Pasts, which is dedicated to researching the connections between current challenges and processes and negotiations of comparable phenomena in the past from transdisciplinary perspectives.
